塩昆布 (shiokobu, or salt kelp) is a wonderful salty garnish.
I first had it with some daikon radish and really liked it.
Since then, whenever I come to なかの食鶏 十三店 in Juso, they remember to bring me tons of extra.
I put it on everything. It is surprisingly good with fries.
